These games were first held on the 10th September 1852 and have been held annually on the 2nd Saturday in September except for the period of the World Wars & the Covid-19 Pandemic. The Pitlochry Highland Games Committee have always tried to make sure the games are run along the lines of a traditional Highland Games with competitors coming from all over Scotland and further afield to participate. Events include Running, Cycling, Jumping, Solo Piping, Traditional Highland Dancing, Heavy Events, Tug o' War and Grand Pipe Band Competitions for Grades 1, 2, 3, 4 and Novice Juvenile. There will also be a Parade of Pipe Bands down Atholl Road to the Recreation Ground at 11.40 am and a Parade of Massed Bands Finale at 5pm approx.
